Penguins in Memphis -- seems a little weird, but I was envious of their pool.

@Lesley: I guess just because I think of penguins as cold-climate animals that belong on ice, that's why I found it odd. But, these are apparently African penguins? I can't remember, but David indicated they're from a warmer climate. Thank you!

A beautiful, 5-star image; just look at the water in his back. I love the signs of motion with is flipper, and the calm water as he moves forward.

@peter: Okay, the two of you are ganging up on me, so I guess I'll get back to Costa Rica. I was going to post some older pics from the files, but then I realized . . . OMG, my husband moved everything taken prior to 2008 when we were having trouble with Picasa. Now, I can't even view the photos from Alaska or Maine or even Michigan (the places I've been since 2005). Argh!!! Costa Rica is pretty much what I'm stuck with!

Good close up, they are fun to watch, but such strange birds too, I think I too would be envious of their pool.

@Richard Irwin: They're funny, aren't they? I love the way they waddle in line. There seemed to be a definite leader amongst the little group I was watching as they marched to the edge of the pool to dive in.
