Lorraine from Gatineau, CanadaOh what a sight! outstanding and the water flowing around him, timeless treasure, bravo Booky! 1 Aug 2009 10:44am @Lorraine: Thank you, Rainy! Lesley from Lincoln, United StatesNot weird at all! I'm jealous, too. And it looks so clean! Nice ripples. 1 Aug 2009 12:22pm @Lesley: I guess just because I think of penguins as cold-climate animals that belong on ice, that's why I found it odd. But, these are apparently African penguins? I can't remember, but David indicated they're from a warmer climate. Thank you! Judy from Brooksville, Florida, United StatesA beautiful, 5-star image; just look at the water in his back. I love the signs of motion with is flipper, and the calm water as he moves forward. 1 Aug 2009 12:51pm @Judy: Thank you, Judy! He'd just jumped in the water, hence all the water on his back. Cute little guys. They're so fun to watch. @Loner: Thank you, Loner! Pavan Kaul from Mumbai, IndiaA lovely picture...beautiful color, reflections and detail! 2 Aug 2009 6:24am @Pavan Kaul: Thank you very much! grouser from Ludlow, United KingdomAha Bookish one a secret desire to swim with the birds. Nice close up Nice ripples Nice bird. By the way what has happened to the other 1995 Costa Rica shots? 3 Aug 2009 10:50am @grouser: Or, just a secret desire to swim, period. You know, God told me I'm fat in a dream, this week. He was right. No wonder I've been afraid to break out the bathing suit. Thanks! Well, I guess I do need to get back to Costa Rica, don't I? I'm so scattered. peter from new york, United Stateshe seems to be loving his swim! love this shot. and i agree with grouser re the other vaca shots ;-) 3 Aug 2009 10:35pm @peter: Okay, the two of you are ganging up on me, so I guess I'll get back to Costa Rica. I was going to post some older pics from the files, but then I realized . . . OMG, my husband moved everything taken prior to 2008 when we were having trouble with Picasa. Now, I can't even view the photos from Alaska or Maine or even Michigan (the places I've been since 2005). Argh!!! Costa Rica is pretty much what I'm stuck with! Richard Irwin from Belper, United KingdomGood close up, they are fun to watch, but such strange birds too, I think I too would be envious of their pool. 3 Aug 2009 10:53pm @Richard Irwin: They're funny, aren't they? I love the way they waddle in line. There seemed to be a definite leader amongst the little group I was watching as they marched to the edge of the pool to dive in. Earnest from Oklahoma, United StatesI'm sure you could have their pool for a few hundred thousand... I know what you mean. Great photo. 5 Aug 2009 11:09am MontereyJohn from Salinas, California, United StatesHot, eh? Nice closeup. That lens of your performs very well. Well done. 12 Aug 2009 3:23pm |
