More coffee cherries - Costa Rica #26Posted by Bookfool (Mississippi, United States) on 26 May 2009 in Food & Cuisine. Aren't they pretty? Coffee cherries contain the raw coffee beans and, if planted in the right conditions (volcanic soil, altitude, heat, moisture), you can get a plant from a coffee cherry. Once they've done all the drying, separating and roasting you're stuck just boiling it to make a nice drink. I'm fine with that. I love the end result.
