The Dratted Blue Morpho - Costa Rica #15

Posted by Bookfool (Mississippi, United States) on 10 May 2009 in Animal & Insect.

Those suckers just refuse to sit still and hold their wings open. This is probably my best shot of a blue morpho. I got several (most as they were in flight - I think he was getting set to take off, in this photo), but none are worth jumping up and down and partying over -- partly because they persisted in flying past the netted walls.

Our weather predictions for the week look dire (thunderstorm, thunderstorm, thunderstorm) and I don't feel like pre-loading, so if I disappear for a few days, it's just because it's storming outside. I'll be back.
