@MrsAmber: Thank you! So far, we've just had threatening rumbles and heavy overcast, although the weather map is quite colorful! :)

@Lorraine: Weeeelll, I'll disagree that the photo's any good, but at least you get a decent idea of how gorgeous those blue morphos are. They taunted me, I swear. Thanks, Rainy!

@Craig: Why, thank you! The blue is so, so pretty in real life. You only get a vague idea from this photograph, but it's better than nothing, right?

@Earnest: Close to what I usually get -- sunburn and mosquito bites. If you don't mind the drive, Houston has a nice little butterfly center. It's small but nice and bright. One problem with this particular butterfly farm was that it was pretty dark inside.

@peter: It's even prettier in real life -- a lovely irridescent, sparkly blue. So far, we haven't had any rain, but the weather forecast still looks very unfun. I hope it just taunts us a little and goes away. :)

@Judy: Actually, he was flapping. When they light on a leaf, they close their wings. So, you have to catch those suckers in motion. They're a real pain in the neck, but so, so beautiful.

@jamesy: I've got some two-wing shots, but they're pretty awful, too. LOL They're just not the kind to stay still with wings open. I didn't realize till I began to shoot butterflies and read a book about them that whether or not they perch with wings open depends on the variety of butterfly. Blue Morphos are the kind that refuse to pose!!
