@MontereyJohn: You would love the scenery, John. The asthma (and one day of a horrendous migraine) I could have done without, but I suppose tropical places are not the best place for the allergy-prone to vacation.

@Lorraine: Thank you, Rainy! It's a beautiful country. I want to go back!!

@peter: Haha! That's so true. Lucky, lucky cows!

@Judy: Yes, really, I think that those who are not up to hiking probably tend to stick to the western part of the country, along the coast. It's also very, very rocky and pitted all around Monteverde. I'll post a photo that shows how bad the roads are, sometime. We're thinking about a second trip focusing on the beachy area.

@jamesy: Thanks, Debbie. I was actually pretty happy with the trip, in spite of a little asthma and a migraine. Those are just things I have to deal with, unfortunately.

@Lesley: I'm pretty bad at planning, too. Plus -- this is so weird -- I can't stand to read travel books until *after* I've been to wherever. They bore me to tears! But, when I've been somewhere, then I want to read all about it. How ridiculous is that? So . . . David did all the planning. I always think it would be perfectly easy to just send info to other folks and have them tag along, though. We should do that, some time.

@Earnest: I'm not courageous; I'm just a nut for pretty places. As to being in the bullseye . . . you need to move just a wee bit west. I had almost no trouble with allergies and wheezing in Ponca City and Stillwater because they're so much drier. It's amazing how much difference 70 miles makes. Tulsa is really humid and miserable for allergies and asthma, by comparison, yep. I empathize with your wife.
