Rose red kitty perch

Contrary to what we told our eldest son, this little kitty is not really the compressed ashes of our dearly departed kitty girl, Sunshine. But, it was really fun watching the son's reaction. This little cat figurine was actually made of pecan shells and I photographed it in the little portable studio (about 2 feet wide, tall and deep) that the husband bought me for Christmas, using regular flash.

Hubby says I used the wrong side of the cloth. That's called a Learning Experience.

@Lorraine: Thanks, Rainy! We have fun with the eldest. He's living far enough away that we can tell him some great stories and then say, "Kidding" and watch his face. Naughty parents.

@grouser: Surprising, isn't it, Grousie? Who'd have thought someone could make such a thing from nutshells.
I haven't tried the studio in daylight yet, nope. We've had a very wet, overcast Christmas holiday. Today, the sun is finally shining but I'm trying to whip out some book reviews and the camera has to sit until I finish, so I'll probably not get back to playing for another day or two.

@Lesley: It's very cool, Les, and apparently pretty inexpensive. Hubby saw the receipt for his big gift (sigh - the one I kept secret till it arrived and he ripped into the parcel) and he said I spent more.

@Earnest: Yes, it's a Stephen King. I have a friend who reads and watches nothing but horror. I give horror a wide berth.
