Santa enters the neighborhoodPosted by Bookfool (Mississippi, United States) on 23 December 2008 in Documentary & Street. This photo was taken by my son. We were both shooting on opposite sides of the street. This is the first time we've ever managed to grab the cameras in time to catch the annual procession of emergency vehicles, although it's an annual tradition and we've lived in our house since the kid was an idea. Every year the volunteer fire trucks -- with sirens blaring -- drive Santa through the neighborhood. This year, Santa sat on the final truck. You can see him way at the back. This photo makes it kind of obvious why Vicksburg was formerly known as "The San Francisco of the South".
