I don't sit still for long

You really have to work hard to capture these fellows -- they're very active and bursting with personality. I believe this is a white-cheeked gibbon. It was taken in the China section of the Memphis Zoo. Because I was using a 500mm lens, I was too close to capture one of the most awesome moments as we watched the gibbons playing and eating -- a brief hug this one gave a black gibbon. There were probably 25 people standing around, at that moment, and the entire crowd said, "Awwwww."

@grouser: Thank you! That's the intent. I'm going to be more careful about not showing cages, now that I know there some folks who are sensitive about animals in pens. The Memphis Zoo is fortunately very nice -- lots of space for the animals.

@Les: I needed my second camera for a wider view, but Kiddo was using it. In fact, he changed lenses and dropped the 50mm. So, I may be investing in a new lens, soon. Again. It's a good thing I've mellowed with age. :)

@Lorraine: You would have loved to watch the gibbons, Lorraine. They were full of energy, silly and lovable. I could have stayed to watch them all day. :)

@Richard_Irwin: Thank you. They have very expressive faces -- kind of frowny-looking, but there are times you look at them and think, "That's a happy little critter." LOL They sure seem to have fun!
