Finding balance

My family has just returned from a jaunt to Memphis, Tennessee for Thanksgiving with the eldest son. Husband, youngest son and I have a habit of counting hawks on our road trips. This guy was #13 out of 31 counted on the drive from Vicksburg to Memphis. Perched on a sign near a truck stop where we stopped for a stretch break, he allowed me to walk fairly close before lifting and turning the opposite direction on his perch. This photo was snapped as he regained his balance after turning around. As soon as he settled into place he spotted me and took off, but by that point I was satisfied -- I knew I'd captured a great moment.
