My Special Place

Oops, the zoo photos will be delayed one day, so I can participate in the challenge! My special place is outside with the cat and a stack of books (at least, this time of year -- when it finally cools off and the mosquitoes disappear). Invariably, there will be at least one anole lizard nearby, peeking from between the shutters.

@amy: Thank you, Amy! I had to do a lot of thinking about this one, but then I walked outside with the cat, the books and the camera and thought . . . "Oh. Of course." LOL

I love this montage! Well-done!! Love the beautiful tree in all its glory. Did you purposely choose not to put the lizard in the bottom left frame? ;)

@Les: Thanks, Les! That tree is right across the street from us and it's absolutely stunning. I did deliberately try to put the lizard on the lower right, so that he was looking into the montage, yes. I would have shuffled the photos around until he showed up there, if it hadn't worked on the first try (which it did).

@Lorraine: Thank you! This is the time of year to visit. The rest of the year, we do a lot of sweating and swatting of mosquitoes, but autumn is awesome in Mississippi. :)

I wish I could say the same about sitting out in the garden. Here in Britain, it's about 5 degrees Centigrade.

@*Rich*: Thank you, Rich! We call the cat Miss Spooky (the "Miss" being a Southern thing). She's 14 years old but still has spunk. I'd rather live in your area and have cool summers and cold winters, to be honest. We have a good 7 months of being driven indoors by the heat and sun. You just need to come visit Mississippi any time you're shivering. You'll go home nicely thawed. :)

@Earnest: Thank you! Yes, people are very friendly in Mississippi. When we first moved here, I didn't know what to make of all those strangers waving to us as we drove by! LOL You should visit, again. I can show you some of the good places to have fun taking photos.

@bisha: Thanks, Nat! Yeah, this time of year I appreciate the chair on the porch. The rest of the year, it just sits there and taunts. Cats make indoors better. :)

ok.. a very bold statement, I have visitied possibly 80 blogs in the last two days on my special place, but this for me seems to capture so much, I can relate so well, and I think for me, I love your special places the most. Thank you so much for taking part in the challenge, sorry I am so late getting to your page, working down the 91 comments, but it was worth the wait, and I am glad I saw this later, as it truly is very special.
